The Haryana government has launched a mega project spanning 1400 acres in Gurgaon. The project, expected to come up in the southern reaches of Gurgaon (Sector 58–115), will house about 70,000 residential units. The Haryana Urban Development Authority (HUDA) will develop 1,000 acres, while the remaining will be developed by private developers such as Emmar-MGF and DLF. The project will be completed in six months. The cost of the flats and the type of dwellings to be offered are still under deliberation. However, it is expected that the rates for the HUDA flats will range from Rs 13–50 lakh, depending on the size and location. HUDA’s guidelines for the economically weaker sections, including 10 per cent quota housing for economically weaker sections and another 10 per cent for multiple housing units (group housing societies), will apply to this development. To ensure connectivity with the NCR, the planning department is expected to construct roads catering to the area. |
