Engineering major Larsen & Toubro (L&T) has acquired six orders worth Rs 1,230 crore. The projects are intended to be constructed by Electrical and Gulf Projects Operating Company, a subset of L&T’s Construction Division. The deal comprises a project worth Rs 496 crore from Mahatransco, for the construction of a 220-kV multi-circuit transmission line over 130 km in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region. A Rs 246 crore-order from the Chhattisgarh State Electricity Board entails the set up of a 400-kV double transmission line to extend from Korba West to Khedamara (Bhilai) over 224 km. Rail Vikas Nigam Ltd has engaged L&T to construct a 45-km railway route between Panskura and Kharagpur, at a price tag of Rs 186 crore. The construction of all three projects is to be completed over two years. Power Grid Corporation of India has sent in an order valued at Rs 103 crore for the construction of 126 km of 400-kV transmission lines to further the Northern Region System Strengthening Scheme, to be finished over 25 months. Apart from these, two other orders have been received for constructing sub-stations at Rs 199 crore. |
