Times Journal of Construction and Design takes a look at Hästens’s new luxury bed, the Citation II
Hästens, Sweden’s oldest manufacturer of beds, has recently developed a new adjustable bed, offering its customers a new sleeping experience. Commercially named the Hästens Citation II, the bed features a complete range of functions to enhance the sleeping, rest, relaxation and massage experiences. Due to its layering system, the Hästens Citation II is extremely soft and pliable, making it comfortable and pressure-relieving. The special layering contains layers of natural fibres such as horsehair, cotton and wool. The springy horsehair allows for greater ease of movement, giving its users more support and a greater degree of comfort.

Hästens Citation II is made by hand using natural materials with Hästens’ patented spring system for maximum performance. The natural fibres such as nonallergenic horsehair, cotton, wool and flax help in regulating body temperature. Hästens Citation II is variably adjustable, and it is easy to adjust the bed to the most comfortable position using the wireless remote control. This remote control allows the user to programme and store his favourite positions. The head and foot of the bed can be raised separately, making it adjustable for different activities like reading, meditating or resting. The bed also features a built-in massage system with variable settings—from mild relaxation to more invigorating modes. The aluminium base featured on the Hästens Citation II increases the functional capabilities of the bed. The bed is available in various standard sizes with a choice of soft, medium, firm or extra-firm springs.

Hästens’ luxurious beds are handcrafted, use natural filling materials, and have been awarded the Swedish ‘SWAN’ environmental certification. Moreover, the product range also complies with the standards set by Eco-Tex (Öko-Tex in German), a global testing and certification system for screening harmful substances in consumer textile products. It also complies with the European Standards that define furniture quality. Hästens is currently available in 25 markets worldwide and continues to expand into new markets. |
