Goldleafing Studio, India’s only studio showcasing goldleafing and silverleafing, completed its successful one year. The studio, which is located at the Oshiwara Link Road in Mumbai, displays the glittering work of gold and silver gilding. This concept was pioneered in India by Shehzad Khan, a graduate of JJ School of Arts Interior Designing. Beside pure 24-carat gold leafing, other types of leafing include silver, champagne, copper and bronze. Leafing can be done on ceiling, bed, fabrics, mirrors, lamp-shades, candles, chandeliers and walls. Goldleafing and silverleafing can also be done on sweets, dry fruits, medicines and traditional dishes.  The gilding work is carried out in the hospitality industry, multiplexes, corporate houses, retail outlets and shopping malls. Some of Goldleafing Studio’s clients include The Orchid Ecotel, The Taj Mahal, JW Marriot, The Oberoi, Ramada Palm Groove, Videocon Bungalow, The Manikchand Office and Bungalow, Splendour, Sat Guru’s, Ravissants, Bombay Electricals, Furniturewala as well as bungalows of actors such as Shahrukh Khan and Amitabh Bachahan. |
