The National Real Estate Development Council (NAREDCO) is a premier body representing the housing and real estate segment of India. Established in 1998 by the Government of India, NAREDCO is actively involved in the development of the Indian realty sector.

Some of the primary objectives of the organisation are as follows:

To promote the housing and real estate segment in India
To facilitate overall growth of the sector to ensure economic development of the country
To actively participate in the policy-making activities pertaining to the realty segment
To establish a National Institute of Real Estate Development (NIRED) for the promotion of R&D activities in the sector
To ensure adoption of high standards for operations in the segment
To assist real estate companies in adopting modern marketing practices
To arrange conferences, meetings and seminars to spread mass awareness.

The organisation also takes important initiatives to implement projects related to the rating of real estate companies, organising training programmes for real estate agents and form state real estate councils.
