Vedanta Group chooses JLLM

Jones Lang LaSalle Meghraj has recently won a contract from the Vedanta Group to manage its industrial township project in Orissa for 3 years

Global property consultant Jones Lang LaSalle Meghraj (JLLM) will manage the Rs 300-crore Vedanta Industrial Township in Orissa for 3 years.
 
The background: JLLM’s  property and asset management agency has recently won the contract among various other international management firms to provide a complete range of services for the mining major Vedanta Group’s industrial township project.
 
Landscaping services, environment health and safety management, housekeeping, club management, mall management, catering, mechanical and electrical services, security, laundry services and waste management are some of the many township management services that the property consultant will provide.
 
“With more than 1.2 billion square feet of property and corporate real estate under management worldwide, we are by far the market leaders in delivering superior project and asset management services,” says Col. Ashutosh Beri, managing director of property and asset management at JLLM.
 
Commenting further Col. Beri says, “Through our services, we aim at reducing operating costs, enhance property values and simultaneously maintain a superior work environment for tenants.”
 
On Vedanta Industrial Township
 
Spread across 80 acres and scalable to 150 acres, Vedanta Industrial Township has been designed to provide sophisticated urban living accommodation and amenities to the group’s 2,500-plus employees, who are stationed at the Jharsuguda aluminium plant.
 
The immaculately landscaped township project will comprise bungalows, studio apartments, hostel accommodation, over 2,500 apartments, shopping centre, health club, school and healthcare centre.
 
JLLM on a winning spree
 
At the 2010 RFP[i] Outstanding Individuals Industry Asia Awards held last week, two professionals of the property advisory firm—Ong Soo Yar and Ada Fung—bagged the year’s business development and project manager awards.
 
Speaking on JLLM’s participation in the awards, Claire Saeki, co-founder and publisher of RFP Magazine says, “It is great to see a company like Jones Lang LaSalle that always supports its teams by putting forward an excellent cross section of talent. This acknowledgement not only supports the award winners but also other nominees, their teams and improves the standards of the industry as a whole.” 
 
On the other hand, John Forrest, JLLM’s CEO (corporate solutions-Asia-Pacific) congratulated Soo Yar and Ada on their achievements and said “they have made our firm proud.”
