Willbros to Build Interconnecting Pipeline for Statoil

Willbros Group, Inc announced that Willbros Construction Services (Canada) LP, its unit in Canada, has won a construction project from Statoil, a leading energy company in oil and gas generation. The contract for the construction of interconnecting pipelines, which has been awarded as part of the company’s Leismer Infrastructure Pipelines (LIP) project, is for around 1.3 km of dual NPS 30 diluted bitumen (dilbit) and diluent pipelines, fibre optic conduit and other additional facilities in South of Fort McMurray, Alberta.

The primary goal of the project is to connect the facilities of Statoil and Enbridge, a leading firm in energy transportation, distribution and services. Construction will commence somewhere in July and August. The project is a sign of the improving market conditions in Canada.
